Be forewarned, this is probably one of my favorite oracle sets to use when people are trying to hide stuff not only from others but themselves. Brian Fround's Farie Oracle Deck is 3rd deck I ever owned, and it is holds a special place in my heart and my clients/friends who have asked to be read by it. For the truth comes out around situations you yourself might be hiding from.
Now I would typically go into is this a deck good for beginners or people who are more advanced and in this case, I'd like to say neither. This Farie Oracle Deck I feel is more along the lines of, it chooses you. Why do I say that Faries are known to be fickle, honest and sometimes the lessons they have to teach come in the most unlikely of manners and in the bluntest way possible. I say this not to scare people away from the deck, but to think before using it. Also, if you think you can hide from Faries, they like to say, 'we hide better'.
For those looking to pick up the deck and use it for your own practices. I highly recommend the deck to those who are on self-discovery journey and are looking for guidance in ways that will get the job done, maybe not gracefully, but in a way that will have long-lasting teaching and learning moments. (A bit of honey as an offering I find helps too for a softer landing.)
Going into the construction of the cards and their feel. This deck is great for people with smaller hands, and it shuffles well, as the cards aren't too thick. The imagery is beautiful, a little stark in some cards but the messages and energy each card has is very definitive and if you're sensitive you sometimes might even know what card is your hand before you see it. The colors have not faded and the edging has not torn away or split from side (knock on wood). The deck I've also noticed doesn't bend a ton and it won't take a lot of time to break in either, making a good deck to keep on rotation.

The last part I wanted to go over was the imagery on the cards. First note: there is nudity in these cards, not on every single one, but it does show the feminine form not clothed if that is something you don't like in your decks. Aside from the note, this deck is beautifully crafted with a wide array of colors, textures and interpretations of the fairies with some humanoid a little animal-like to looking like pixies. The art theme very much feels likes everything was painted over with some the characters feeling like they were sketched in a notepad. Some of the imagery and energies are very strong in the deck, and there are a few times where I've found myself going, "I didn't mean to, and I'm going to flip you over now because I know exactly what you're trying to say, and I don't need to see you to get it."
The last part of this review is actually of the guidebook that comes with the deck is very detailed, giving typically a two-page summary of each card, describing the origin of the fairy, it's upright meaning and its reversed meaning as well. Meaning this deck is quite versatile and is almost as in-depth as a standard tarot deck.
Overall, this deck is one of my favorite to use with individuals, however it can be quite intimidating and as I recommend used sparingly or for certain situations or circumstances. I can't say it's a deck you'll pull out daily to consult, but when shit is going sideways, there's stuff being hidden from you, or you're looking for a way home, the Faries Oracle is a wonderful deck to use. As you might not get where you're going in the most direct path, but it will be on the path where you find all the nooks and crannies and discover what is truly hiding in the shadows.
